Because each of her patients has a unique physiology, Shantelle knows that their care has to be individualized to them. She enjoys educating patients and their families on the new therapies and procedures that are constantly being developed in the field of congenital cardiology.
One of the challenges of this career that I enjoy is (and why): There is always something new to learn everyday. There is never a dull moment in healthcare or as a provider. It is both challenging and rewarding in a way I never couldve imagined.

As the demand for mental health care continues to rise, Dr. Shantelle is seeing her practice fill up quickly. Eager to ensure the health and wellbeing of those in need, she is in process of adding two more clinics in the Chicagoland area. This, along with hours of her time giving mental health workshops in her community and crisis support for teachers and administrators in area schools, she believes supporting Rogers is just another way she can help.
The International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care is dedicated to promoting knowledge of and developing guidelines for comfort-oriented care to companion animals as they approach the end of life.
Cultural pride and diversity have always been core principles of my upbringing. As a biracial woman, my family always taught me to embrace my culture, appreciate others and live a life of service. My most distinct memories from my upbringing are the Christmas family gatherings. For this celebration, everyone would bring a dish, often a traditional dish, that we would share whilst a multitude of many different genres of music played in the background and our elders would tell stories about their lives before their journeys moving to Australia.
In high school, I learned the true extent of my mental toughness and determination. Throughout every stage of my high school career, I found my competitive nature drove me to achieve goals that often seemed out of reach. However, it was not until my final two years of high school that I learned the importance of self-care and cost-benefit decision-making. As I strived to be accepted into a medical course, I knew the discipline and determination that would be required. Subsequently, through trial and error, I learnt how to prioritise my time for the people and activities that brought me joy whilst never losing sight of my goals; culminating in success both in school and engagement with my community.
With a degree in Exercse Science, I wanted to be in the Healthcare field. Having worked with the Spine & Injury Center since 2014, I have learned so much, and as an active MMA fighter, I have a very busy schedule inside and outside the office. My years of experience can be put into place to help you make the right decision with your treatment direction. I cannot wait to meet you and help you achieve your goals.
Grants and loans will help child care providers reopen when the pandemic ends and pay workers in the meantime. But there was nothing in the stimulus package to solve the other problem many child care workers are facing: a lack of health insurance.
Methods: A 6-month pre/post-longitudinal educational intervention of high-risk women (n = 1310) patients at six U.S. women's heart programs consisted of comprehensive heart health counseling and use of American Heart Association/American College of Cardiology (AHA/ACC) Evidence-Based Guidelines as enhancement to usual care delivered via five integrated components: education/awareness, screening/risk assessment, diagnostic testing/treatment, lifestyle modification/rehabilitation, and tracking/evaluation. Demographics, before and after knowledge surveys, clinical diagnoses, laboratory parameters, and Framingham risk scores were also determined. Changes in fund of knowledge, awareness, and risk reduction outcomes and Healthy People 2010 objectives were determined.
Conclusions: CVD prevention built around a comprehensive heart care model program and AHA/ACC Evidence-Based Guidelines can be successful in improving knowledge and awareness, CVD risk factor reduction, and attainment of Healthy People 2010 objectives in high-risk women. Thus, these programs could have a dramatic and lasting impact on the health of women.
Chances are if you've landed here, it's not been on accident or mishap. I'm sure you are contemplating or considering counseling & therapy. Maybe your mind is settled and you'd like to proceed. I can tell you firsthand that therapy is a very rewarding self investment. I can also tell you that therapy isn't very easy - it requires intention, transparency, and willingness. It requires talking about some uncomfortable "stuff". No, I don't expect you to come air out your dirty laundry or tell me your deepest darkest secrets. However, I would like for you to show up ready and willing to grow, change, and begin your healing. Healing is also an ongoing process and in order for therapy to work you must be invested in the process.
My goal is to help you find a healthy balance, achieve life enrichment and gain inner peace. I begin where you are as we work together in creating a unique plan to meet your individual needs. My approach is very calming, straightforward, empathetic and caring. I incorporate evidence based techniques such as, cognitive behavioral therapy - talk therapy, problem solving therapy, and solution focused therapy. For the past 10+ yrs I've worked in the field of Social Work. I have worked in behavioral health, psychiatric care, refugee resettlement, child protective services, investigations, non profit, and state advocacy/compliance. While I've worked in a variety of settings, I am most passionate about working with individuals, couples, and families to bring about positive life changes. Please know that you will ALWAYS have a safe, respectful, and non judgmental space with me. I want nothing more than for you to show up as your true and authentic self.
